I live in Austin but as I was driving back from Sulphur Springs, I saw this totally out of place and opulent building sitting off to the West. It actually looks so out of place that I thought it might have been a prop for a movie set.

So since it is real, and I'm sure paid for with tax dollars, I have to comment that it is totally inappropriate use of funds for a building this lavish looking for a city the size of Rockwall.

Sincerely,
Pam

It is difficult to comprehend how our elected officals could reach such a decision. Council members and Mayors come and go, yet the City Manager remains the one constant that has directed Rockwall's growth in such a positive fashion. Julie Couch has dedicated her adult life to the service of the citizenary of Rockwall.
You were elected because you promised transparency, yet you "group up" and pass a resolution to fire the City Manager??? Good business practice is to communicate and resolve differences, not throw out the baby with the bath water. Years of experience, respect from her contemporaries and staff as well as the respect of the people of Rockwall, she deserve better. I am dismayed by the Councils actions and I ask that they rethink this and don't allow egos to damage the future of our amazing City.
Respectfully,
Darlene Reed

Each month on the 4th Saturday, members of the Texas Astronomical Society gather in The Shores Park. We setup our telescopes and invite the public to "have a look!"

Our next event is this Saturday evening at sunset, August 27th. Come on out to the Shores Park and see what's up in the sky. This is a free monthly event sponsored by the Texas Astronomical Society at www.texasastro.org

We are now in our 5th year of free monthly star gazing events here in Rockwall.

Clear skies!
Joe Lalumia
President
Texas Astronomical Society

Wow!!! Now I don't have to drive all the way to Allen or Frisco for my fix. Good burger, but definitely not worth an hour wait. As my kids would say... "It's good only if you can get In-AND-Out". LOL

Glen I believe you would make a wonderful and awwesome mayor. From what little time we got to know each other, Rockwall couldn't ask for a better Mayor. Good luck!
