Shelli Miller to run for Rockwall County Clerk

Shelli Miller has filed to run for the office of Rockwall County Clerk Republican Primary this spring. “With a seventeen year background in the banking industry, I have the qualifications and experience to manage the county clerk’s office effectively and efficiently, while providing superior service to our customers, the people of Rockwall County” said Shelli.

The county clerk’s office is responsible for maintaining legal records (such as deeds, liens and judgments), issuing marriage licenses, serving as clerk of the county and commissioner’s courts and recorder of the county.  Shelli is an experienced manager and leader who is familiar with maintaining important documents and records with the confidentiality and security issues involved.  Shelli says “Every aspect of the clerk’s office is governed by federal and state laws and regulations in much the same way as the banking industry”.

Shelli is ready to bring her experience and expertise to our county government.  “In May I graduated from Leadership Rockwall class of 2009. They’re an organization whose mission is ‘to identify and motivate emerging leaders, and to develop their potential for community involvement and leadership” says Shelli. “That experience gave me a new perspective of our local government.  It helped tremendously in my decision to run for County Clerk and further prepared me for this election.”

A twenty-year resident of Rockwall, Shelli has been an active volunteer in our community.  For the past 13 years she has been a very active member of Soroptomist, an international organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. She has served on their executive board for most of the past 10 years as President, President Elect, First Vice President and is currently Treasurer.

In addition, Shelli is active in Lake Pointe Church. She serves as an ambassador for the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce and was a Boy Scout leader for over eight years.  She has two sons, Scott & Tim, both of whom graduated from Rockwall public schools and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Debbie Branch, Campaign Treasurer adds “Shelli would consider it an honor to continue her service to the citizens of Rockwall County as our county clerk. I ask that you entrust her with that responsibility by supporting her with your vote”.
